As we serve our neighbors, visiting in their homes we learn more intimately about the policies that plague them. Policies that stifle their efforts to climb out poverty and into self-sustaining paths. We are called not only to feed, clothe and shelter but to also be their voice when they are unable to speak for themselves.
The numbers of our neighbors living in poverty are increasing as the pandemic continues. The needs going way beyond what Vincentians are able to provide. However, by reaching out to our family, friends and fellow parishioners - together we can effectively advocate for the vulnerable among us.
